I've heard about it, but never thought that I'd have the chance to GO for it!
25th June 2011. Unforgettable!
My techies and i shared a car-rental and drove to collect the tickets. Thankfully, one of my captains drove a left-hand-drive when he was based in UAE a while back. So, in a Peugeot we rolled. What other car to drive since we are in Paris, right? Coincidentally, we got ourselves a red car!
Traffic was not too kind, as we were caught in a couple of jams. Too bad, the cars are mostly in manual. Glad I wasn't driving!
We got there relatively late, at about 14.30. And once we got down the car, I was already grinning from ear to ear. I was probably the only girl with 4 pilots escorts going into the airshow! *proud moment*
Anyway, the saddest thing was that I was, of all things, without my EOS babies. Captain Dingle had his Olympus. But nothing beats a shutter fest at such location! Armed with only my Blackberry, i marched into the exhibition, and was without a doubt, over-whelmed!
My first jaw-drop...

And we got there in time to see the A380 playing up in the sky. It was too graceful for words, and totally magnificent. The picture I have would never have done the beauty justice. The awe I have would be preserved in my mental-camera.
Hopefully, this would be my future office. =)
And my techies insisted that this would be MY first aircraft! (providing I could fit in it!)
Mostly, the military aircraft were on display. My walking-encyclopedias are guessing that most of the commercial aircraft probably left, as it was the second last day of the show.
The best gift I brought home was the fellowship and bond I co-shared with my pilots on that trip. That itself is just priceless.
On things that money could buy, well... i had my share of shopping. Hey, when you are shopping in euros, you can't go far with a salary like mine! This one is my favorite, a present for myself. Needless to say, it is still in the wrapper!
Anyway, thank you Captain Dingle Chew, Captain Arjuna, Senior First Officer Navin and most of all, to driver Captain Ling Liong Tien for making this trip possible!
